Week starting 1st May

Ok, a free week away from racing ahead so we’ll put some quality training in. DO NOT BE DAFT AND SO A LONG RUN MONDAY and leave yourself knackered for Tuesdays track session.  Some of you will be tired from the shorter faster stuff we’ve transitioned to after the winter slog. And a couple of you will still have the marathons in your legs. So we aren’t going flat out yet. Make sure you allow enough time for some short drills and a good warm up this Tuesday. And stretch properly afterwards. As we’re on the track let’s tighten up on discipline. Be careful getting on and off the track. Let’s concentrate and keeping the chatting to a minimum. Think about your form all the way around. Lean into the bends and come out of them a bit quicker. Stay as relaxed as you can. I absolutely don’t want to see you fighting and tightening up. Personally speaking I wouldn’t wear spikes and I certainly wouldn’t wear carbons either they’re too bulky. If you’ve got some old school road racing shoes...

Week starting 24th April

What a weekend that was! Great training by the group on the track and Dan running 2.35 at London. He actually came in the top 300 out of 45,000 too! Madness. Great to see some of the group down in London as well. As a coach it’s so good to see you all progress and realise your goals. I think I speak for us all when I say Dan is a superstar. Despite being constantly tired and exhausted from training and work he always pulls on a wolves vest and reps the club at the important stuff like the cross country and the relays. Like all of you he’s a credit to the club. Credit to Sab, Beth, Holly and Darren who all ran round and gave Dan race support. It also takes a team to keep a group going too from Paul Tabor, Dave Norman and you. You’ve all played your part. Just by turning up when it’s pissing it down or you’re knackered or just life gets in the way. By turning up you’ve made the group work. I have to give enormous credit to Jay too who like Dan put in shift after shift over the last few m...
