Week starting 23rd Sept
A huge thank you to Dave and Sab for all the hard work in organising teams for the relays. It was a fantastic day! It was great to see newcomers like Lee Pearson make their debut in style.
I want to emphasise that our group is all about putting on the Wolves vest and representing the club at all league events and relays. We're not here to chase tinpots, and I make no apologies for saying that. Parkruns and other races have their place in our build-up, but this group’s priority is to get out there and rep the club above all else.
I was particularly disappointed to be in a team that ended up short of runners on Saturday - Mark literally stepped off a plane and ran a leg. Unless you are actually dead race! And even then give it a go. Also if you're injured or resting, come down to the club and lend a hand. If you're lacking motivation, it’s a great way to rediscover it. We’re a collective, a team, and we need to work together.
This week:
Tuesday: Be warmed up and ready to go for 6:50 p.m. sharp at Ashfield Road. 12-16 reps of hill work (approx. 400m effort), followed by a couple of miles at an easy tempo.
Saturday: 9:30 a.m. start at Hammer Field, Aldersley. Pyramid session: 1, 2, 3, 3, 2, 1, 1, 2, 3 reps, followed by 10 x 20-second hill sprints in the next field.
