Training up until Christmas day

Hello welcome back to the group blog. I will only be using this from now on. If you've got here please bookmark it.

I have seen some amazing progress recently. But we've got a long winter to go.

Try not to pick too many races for the next 6 week or you will be incorporating them into your training without a taper. But have an end goal in mind. What are you training for should be the question. Are you try to get back to fitness? Trying to get some PBS. A county, and England vest? Whatever it is winter training will enable us all to be together as its not flat out. From late February we will start to sharpen you up for the spring and decrease the miles.

Leading up until Christmas we will be continuing with endurance based running. This will include lots of hard work on hills. Both on the road and the cross.

Because we have increased the volume of your weekly mileage you will not be running this like the summer. You need to make sure you are working hard but not running the sessions flat out.

To support the generic group work increase either your weekly miles or time on feet.

So if you run 35 miles a week go to 40-42. If you run 70 miles a week start by going to 75. Or if you run 6 hours a week try to increase it to 6 hours 45 minutes.

Cheers,
